Things we do…
Some of our non-commercial projects and interests are:
Image analysis in optical microscopy, specifically on petrographic thin section
material in polarized light. Use of volume microscopy, optical deconvolution.
Use of Trace- and Rare Earth Elements for stratigraphic purposes and
correlation of barren sequences, initially studied on examples from Central Java.
Microscopic dust analysis (mineral dust, biogenic dust, health hazards, etc.)
Our recent projects were New Venture activities in Indonesia, some of the
geographic highlights include the Makassar Straits, Sulawesi, Halmahera, the
Bird’s Head of West Papua, East Java and East Java Sea and a number of other
projects in the region.
The list of clients includes Vico, Talisman, Hess, Lundin, Premier Oil, AWE
Ltd., Engie (previously known as GDF-Suez) and others.
We have also been contributing to various unconventional hydrocarbon
projects, such as shale gas in South Sumatra, coal-bed methane (CBM) and
tight gas reservoirs.
Conceptual aspects of geoscience such as play fairway mapping, quantification
of multiple hypotheses and other topics along this line (see also our first paper
in the download section of this site) - more of that in the dowload section of
Other projects include study of tight gas reservoirs (partly volcaniclastic) in
Java, Sumatra and South Sulawesi. This has been presented on the 2015 IPA
Convention and the paper is available in the download section of this website.
